Along California State Route 32 (SR32) in Butte County lies the unincorporated community of Butte Meadows. The town is about one hour or 33 miles east of Chico on SR32. Its elevation is listed at 4,351 feet above mean sea level (AMSL): certain to get snow in winter of any year. The community's ZIP code is 95942, which is shared with the community of Forest Ranch to the south. The US Geological Survey shows NAD27 coordinates of for the town. The community is just over one mile from the Tehama County line.
