Butte College is a community college located in northern California between the towns of Chico and Oroville. The college's president is Diana Van Der Ploeg. The college mascot is the Roadrunners. It also holds classes in the towns of Chico and Oroville.

The college was originally housed in an old high school in Durham, California. In the late 1960s, the main campus was built on donated land near the intersection of Durham-Pentz Road and Clark Road. The 928-acre campus is also a wildlife refuge. The addition of a Glenn Center and Chico Center, as well as online course offerings, have allowed students from all over Northern California to pursue a quality education at an affordable price.
