Buta

Location of Buta in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

Buta is a town in the northern Democratic Republic of Congo, lying on the Itimbiri River. It is home to an airport and lies on the railway from Bumba to Isiro.

In early 2005 the town was the centre of an outbreak of pulmonary plague.
