Elizabeth Jean "Busy" Philipps (born June 25, 1979, in Oak Park, Illinois, USA) is an American film actress known for a starring role in the acclaimed 2002 film Home Room, and supporting roles in the 2004 Wayans brothers film White Chicks, and on the TV series' Freaks and Geeks and Dawson's Creek.

She appeared on the UPN sitcom Love, Inc., in a role originally intended for Shannen Doherty. The show lasted for one season (2005-2006) before being canceled. Beginning in fall 2006, she has a recurring role on ER.

Her parents gave her the nickname Busy because, as an infant, she was always moving, and the nickname stuck; it even appears on her driver's license. She attended Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, where she was taught by high-school theatre teacher Deborah Carrick. She attended Loyola Marymount University at the same time as Colin Hanks and Linda Cardellini (her Freaks and Geeks and ER costar). She worked the toy-fair circuit as a real-life Barbie before making her show-business debut.

Philipps is godmother to Dawson's co-star Michelle Williams' and Heath Ledger's daughter Matilda Rose, born in 2005.

She was ranked #58 on the Maxim Hot 100 Women of 2001.[1]
