Talk:Burnout Legends
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Right now the DS version is only rumor and speculation. I even provided a source. Thorpe, you say that Gamespot and other sources confirm that it's not a rumor, yet you don't provide any proof. Here I've linked to my proof.[1] Gamespot themselves say that information they have on a DS version is "unsubstantiated evidence." Unless you can actually provide proof that it's more than a rumor then I believe the article should state that it's only a rumor. --TheKoG 15:22, 12 August 2005 (UTC)
I found a picture online which may be what all the confusion is about.[2] Here, in an EA preview booklet, they have a section on Burnout Legends. They have both the DS and PSP version listed, but with the DS it says "TBD." This is not confirmation that they are in fact making it. They are saying it is "to be determined." In other words, they may or may not make a DS version. Hardly a confirmation from my point of view. --TheKoG 15:35, 12 August 2005 (UTC)
I found a site at GamesRadar.com that said that EA has confirmed that Burnout Legends is going to be on DS this winter. Here is my proof.[3] Unless you counter this, I will hereby change the page to include a confirmed Burnout DS. --Anonymous 23:05, 19 August 2005 (UTC)
I saw that site too, but think about this: why is this the only site in the entire internet that seems to have access to this "document" released by EA? If there were actually a press release stating that it was confirmed then every gaming site would be updating their Burnout: Legends pages with the information. The gaming websites I visit actually post the press releases when they get them. They don't just claim they have some "document" that no one else seems to have access too. I don't see how you can call that proof when the website provides absolutely no proof itself. --TheKoG 15:36, 20 August 2005 (UTC)
I think Burnout DS is confirmed for a European release, because GamesRadar is a top European gaming site. GS or IGN wouldn't have this. This proves that it is coming in Europe. Personally, I don't see a US release far behind. --Anonymous 15:41, 20 August 2005 (UTC)
If you check exclusively European gaming sites, you will find that Burnout DS is coming. --Anonymous 16:08, 20 August 2005 (UTC)
Can you provide links? Have any of the sites posted the document that GamesRadar received or are they all reporting news off of each other? I've checked the official EA website. They have it listed under PSP, but try to find a DS section on it and it's nowhere to be found [4][5]. Don't you think if they officially announced it weeks ago that it would have shown up on the official site by now? All that's been reported so far is just hear-say which is exactly what a rumor is. An article on GamesRadar with no proof is not offical confirmation. An offical confirmation from EA itself is offical confirmation. --TheKoG 19:24, 20 August 2005 (UTC)
EA doesn't update the DS site much. They would include Madden 06, and The Sims 2 there already if it was updated on a regular basis. --Anonymous 16:43 20 August 2005 (UTC)
Ok, but that still does nothing to prove that EA has confirmed that Burnout: Legends is coming out on the DS. Posting facts based on hear-say is fine for a game forum, but not for the Wikipedia. If you know for sure that it's been confirmed then please just provide the proof you have. That's all I'm asking. This is an encyclopedia, facts need to be backed up with proof and not just hear-say. --TheKoG 19:59, 20 August 2005 (UTC)
Forget what I said about "europe only".[6] and [7] also say this. (GameSpy and Jeux-France <-- Translation is bad) also [8] gba.n64europe.com says this. There are no details, but that's more proof. --Anonymous 17:09 20 August 2005 (UTC)
I told you, I told you, I told you! Burnout Legends IS coming out for Nintendo DS!! You didn't believe me, but I made you eat your words!! Just check the IGN DS page, and it's front and center! Screenshots Included! Now I will change it to include a confirmed DS Burnout. This is OVER! --Anonymous 16:14 13 September 2005 (UTC)
I never said that Burnout Legends is never coming out for the DS, I only said that it was wrong to state in the article that it's been confirmed when it had previously not been confirmed. What I've been trying to say all along is that to state something as fact you need to provide proof. What do you mean when you say "This is OVER!"? This is the Wikipedia. It's not a print encyclopedia. It's ever-changing. Nothing is ever over. When new information comes along the Wikipedia gets updated just like it is now. If I had seen the article on IGN first I would have gladly changed this article myself. I feel no loss in that it's now coming out for the DS. When you say "you didn't believe me," well you were right, I didn't believe you. You know why? Because you didn't provide proof. Also when you updated the article you failed to provide proof again. At least this time I can find the proof myself and actually add the proper information. Next time you add to the Wikipedia make sure others can double-check your facts. If others can double-check then your edits will be less likely to be reverted. --TheKoG 00:31, 14 September 2005 (UTC)
Troubleshooting Multiplayer on Rom version 2.7 or higher
There seems to be an issue when trying an Adhoc multiplayer game where 3 or more players causes the game to crash and thus actually causes the PSP's to have a 'fatal error' and switches the PSP's off. All settings have been tried (channels, WIFI powersave etc). I have reported to Sony and EA who in turn advised me of an error and that they were working on it. They then came back and advised me that there were no issues, and they had not managed to replicate it. So why tell me there were issues and then comeback and say 'no issues'? Im puzzled and can well understand not wanting to admit there are issues as this would possibly cause undue testing and further development costs. If anyone else is having the same issues, posts can be submitted to: -

This will hopefully nudge Sony / EA in the right direction so that there can a resolution to the problems
