[edit] City template

I put Burlington's info into the Canadian City template, however there's still the elevation missing and postal code region missing. I don't think those are big concerns, however I did want to get the location image updated to look something like Oakville's. (I finally got Photoshop installed so if no one beats me to it, I'll update it hopefully sometime soon.)

Added it to the main page. See Help_talk:Template:Canadian_City for some troubles I had. --Mrtea 00:45, 5 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Burlington Transit

Since the Burlington Transit article has been reinstated, I removed the duplicate text under the Mass Transit heading. If someone wants to reinsert the Mass Transit heading with a short summary of that article, then include For main article, see Burlington Transit Mrtea (talk) 02:18, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Overhead picture of Burlington

This is my first editing talk entry on any page, and I think this is where I am supposed to write about this kinda stuff. So, a few weeks ago I uploaded a compiled image of aerial photographs into this article, and it was put into a caption a cleaned up - I didn't know how to do that at the time, and after it was done it looked great. The only problem is that the caption was Satelite image, when in fact, though it is tempting to call it such because it looks like what many consider a satelite image, it is in fact just compiled aerial photographs. I base my assertion from my time working in the City of Burlington Engineering Department. But I am interested to hear the other side, since there are other opinions out there! What does everbody think? Aerial or Satelite? The preceding unsigned comment was added by Archos (talkcontribs) 12:46, 27 December 2005.

You’re right- this is the correct place to discuss the Burlington article. It was actually me who erroneously renamed it to "satellite" image. From what I understood at that time, I thought that those types of images were all satellite images. (Mainly because Google Earth and Google Maps are often branded as mainly using satellite images.) Anyway no reason to touch your edit as it’s correct and especially since you’re knowledgeable in the area. By the way, your edit summary stated it was mistaken as vandalism. rv is short for "revert". rvv means "revert vandalism". I left some notes on your talk page regarding talk page etiquette. [edit] Incorporation date

Just looking at the recent revisions; the anon revision to 1974 was correct; as the CITY of Burlington was incorporated upon the formation of RMOH; it was Village of Burlington from 1874 to 1915... Bacl-presby 23:08, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism: semi protected

Just a note to everyone, including vandals, that this page is semi protected due to all the vandalism that has been done on the article. Vandals will be blocked if they continue. Please see the discussion about the recent vandalism and feel free to comment. FellowWikipedian 22:36, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

  • I too, cannot get into this story..It's obvious that some recent edits, even by established users (DP?) are to be questioned....Delinking a number of sites--I'm also surprised to see that Robert Bateman High School links into the Catholic School Board wikientry....as per the vandals, I wonder if they might be responsible for some other vandalism, especially where there are schools named after people like Lester Pearson, etc...

[edit] Photos

This article is certainly lacking in photos. I will try to find some. FellowWikipedian 03:31, 12 January 2007 (UTC) Image:NewBurlingtonPan.jpg Photo from the Burlington Beach by Adam Filipowicz --Adamfilip 04:12, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
