[edit] Biography

Burn the Priest originated in 1990 when Mark Morton, Chris Adler and John Campbell were floor mates at Virginia Commonwealth University. After graduation, Morton moved to Chicago to pursue a master's degree, but the band continued. A new guitarist, Abe Spear, was found. Randy Blythe was added on vocals when the band decided to move past its instrumental sound. With the transition from instrumental to vocal music, the henceforth unnamed band began to operate under the moniker of 'Burn the Priest'. Burn the Priest played around Virginia when Morton moved back from Chicago and re-joined the group. In 1997, Burn the Priest released 2 split seven-inches with ZED and Agents of Satan. The next year, the band released a self-titled full length album on Legion Records. Through mp3.com, a compilation CD of singles and other one-off tracks called 'Sevens and More' was released. [1]

Abe left the band in 1999 after admitting himself to a rehabilitation center outside of Williamsburg, Virginia. The band then changed its name to Lamb of God.
