Burmantofts Pottery

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Burmantofts Pottery was the name of a manufacturer of ceramic pipes and construction materials, named after the Burmantofts district of Leeds, England.

Previously called Wilcock & Co, it was established in 1842 and by the 1880s was manufacturing pottery, tiles, orange or buff-coloured architectural terracotta, and large ceramic plaques. It became The Leeds Fireclay Company after merging with other companies around 1900, continuing to use Burmantofts as a trademark. It ceased trading in 1957.
