Burlington Northern Santa Fe Manitoba

Burlington Northern Santa Fe Manitoba (BNSF Manitoba) is a Canadian subsidiary railroad of BNSF Railway. BNSF Manitoba began as the Midland Railway of Manitoba which was incorporated in 1903 and built various lines around Winnipeg. The operations of the company were acquired by Manitoba Great Northern Railway on July 1, 1909. The lines within the city except for line from the CN mainline at LINDSAY ST. and TAYLOR AVE.to McPhillips Ave. and the YARD TRACKS were sold to the city of Winnipeg and later the Line to the U.S.border at Noyes became JOINT TRACK with the Canadian National Railway. The name was changed to Burlington Northern Manitoba Ltd. in 1971. The last name change was to Burlington Northern Santa Fe (Manitoba) in 1999.
