Burlington Middle School (Kansas)

Burlington Middle School is located in the city of Burlington, Kansas. It occupies the Easternmost building in the northern education complex on the outer edge of the city limits. It is the only middle school in the USD 244 school district.

The front of the building houses the administration offices, counceling rooms and Technology Lab.
Other notable details include:
- A gymnasium on the North-Eastern corner of the main building
- A football field located behind the main building.
- To the West is the high school that houses grades 9 through 12.
- A Cafeteria and band rehearsal room are located at the heart of the building.

Burlington Middle School, with a student population of 193, is designated as a 3A school due to the size of BHS's population. This occurred in 2003 after several large classes graduated without adequate replacements from BMS, dropping the district from 4A classification.[1]

There are around 20 teachers and administrators at Burlington High. Notable administrators include Principal Tim Martin.

The mascot of Burlington Middle Scool is the Bobcats. They have taken this name to coencide with the High School's mascot, the Wildcats.

USD 244 has the basic middle school schedule this includes a Study Hall class, Bobcat Time, that allowes to catch up on work at the start of the day.
The first class occures after Bobcat Time, and is followed by six more in most cases throughout the remainder of the schoolday. There is of course one break for the students for lunch, occurring between the third and fourth or fourth and fifth courses depending on the strudent's schedule.
