Burewala (Urdu: بورے والا) is called city of Education and Sports and is one of the best cotton producing area in the country. Burewala has got approximately 188.986 inhabitants (2006). Burewala can be found on the map at latitude of 30.16 N and Langitude of 72.67E. It is situated about 35km from Vehari District and 135km east of historical city of Multan. Burewala has grain market in the area and it is major business centre. first shrine of sub-continent of Hazrat Baba Haji Sher Dewan. He was one of the earliest Muslim saints in the Subcontinent. In sports, renowned fast bowler of Pakistan cricket team, Waqar Younis is a well known young man also belonging to Burewala and he is dubbed as "Burewala Express". Burewalians are very proud of this. Also we have the Aisa's largest Textile industry in the city of Burewala, which is own by Daud Group of Industries called (BTM) Burewala Textile Mills, which is now known as Lawrencepur Limited. Burewala have some real good shopping bazars and City Center Plaza is great addidtion in teh city to match the life style of the people living here. Burewala is sorounded by boundaries few biggest Industrial and Agricultural cities e.g. Vehari, Arifwala, Chichawatni, Hasilpur, Chishtian. Burewala have the bigest Telephone Exchange of the Asia.
