Bureau des Avocats Internationaux (BAI)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Bureau des Avocats Internationaux (BAI), located in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, was founded in 1975. Its mission is to help victims in the prosecution of human rights cases, train Haitian lawyers and to speak out on justice issues. In the past the BAI received most of its support from Haiti’s constitutional government, but starting in February 2004 it receives most of its support from the Institute for Justice & Democracy in Haiti (IJDH). Currently it receives no support from any government or political organization.
The BAI is managed by Mario Joseph, Haiti’s most respected human rights lawyer.
