Hi Bun, I liked your edits on Education in Sri Lanka, but you need to clean it up. Remove your uses of I, our and other first person pronouns, as well as making sure you put spaces in between words! Thanks and happy editing! :) xxpor ( Talk | Contribs ) 22:03, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image Tagging Image:Lionel ranwala.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Lionel ranwala.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. feydey 23:36, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Lionel ranwala.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Lionel ranwala.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. feydey 23:36, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Sir Lanka actors
Hello and thank you for contributing to Wikipedia.
I have noticed that you have added several stubs on Sri Lankan to wikipedia without anyfurther content. You should note that t hese articles are very likely going to be deleted since they are of no real value to the Wikipedia. If you have more text to add, try to defer the save until you have typed the actual text. If you have any further questions, please contact me at my talk page.Travelbird 23:39, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Reverted your edit of LTTE
Hi, I reverted your edit of LTTE, where you labeled them as "terrorist". Some view the LTTE as a terror organisation, some dont (among them the state of Sri Lanka). Wikipedia as a encyclopedia should present both views, and does - as the article clearly shows that LTTE is banned in the US, India and EU. At the same time LTTE is not banned in Sri Lanka, as it is generally viewed as the organisation the government needs to talk with to achieve peace.
I hope you go on editing on Wikipedia, but please check out articles history and use the discussion page before doing changes to controversial articles. Ulflarsen 09:31, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

- This user ((User:Ulflarsen|Ulflarsenis)) is slightly insane. He keeps reverting everything (which are facts) that is said against LTTE. Watch out!!
[edit] Good question about LTTE
Well done!! watch out for this user Ulflarsen he doesnt know what the fuck he is talking about. He is totally biased towards LTTE. when you put up facts on the artical he either deleats them or keep it in the talk page arguing with no facts. So watch out. And great work again :)
[edit] License tagging for Image:SarasaviyaFilmFestival.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:SarasaviyaFilmFestival.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Cricket photos
Hello Bun,
I just noticed the cricket photos you'd uploaded. You labelled them with the {{cc-by-2.5}} licence but on Flickr they're labelled "All Rights Reserved", which means that we can't use them here. They will be deleted in seven days unless you can get permission from the photographer by then.
Thanks,
Stephen Turner (Talk) 00:07, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] More photos
Also you labelled Image:Lionel ranwala.jpg as {{copyrightedFreeUse}} but there is no evidence on the source site that this is the case. And you labelled Image:Rukmani Devi.jpg as {{Promophoto}} but that can only be used when you got the image from a press kit not a newspaper. So I've listed them both as suspected copyright violations at Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2006 July 31/Images. You can dispute the designation there if you wish, but otherwise they will be deleted in seven days or shortly after.
Thanks,
Stephen Turner (Talk) 00:29, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
