Bullmoose is a Canadian Rock trio originally formed in Elgin, Ontario in 1996. Three of the original members continue in the band today. They include twin brothers Jeff Cowan (drums/vocals) and Seamus Cowan (bass/vocals) from Westport, Ontario and Eric Lawrance (guitar/vocals) from Delta, Ontario. The band began their career as an serious outfit after attending school together in Montreal, Quebec. Their roots show a strong affinity for and resemblance to late 60’s and early 70’s experimental rock and roll in the realm of The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, ZZ Top, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Deep Purple, The Band, Black Sabbath, Neil Young and Grand Funk while taking cues from more modern groups such as Gov’t Mule, The Black Crowes and Queens of the Stone Age.

Bullmoose released Lessons Learned independently in 2004 to critical acclaim. Lessons was recorded at Studios Piccolo in Montreal, engineered and co-produced by Bullmoose and Ryan Patterson (The Exchanges/Kill The Lights) with Mathieu Roberge and mastered by Ryan Morey at SNB. The band toured Canada in it's entirety in 2005 for the Night Danger Tour in support of the record. They have attended Canadian music festivals including Canadian Music Week, North by North East, Festival of the Islands, Ottawa Blues Festival, Maximum Blues, Trudeau Park, Feb Fest and Indie Week. Since 2004, Bullmoose has shared the stage with such diverse Canadian acts as Wide Mouth Mason, The Trews, The Illuminati, Trooper, Junior Pantherz, Mobile, Rocketface, C'Mon, Whitey Houston, The Swallows, The Jimmy Swift Band, The Royal Mountain Band, The Exchanges, The Golden Dogs, Theory of a Deadman, The Stampeders, Ronnie Hawkins and Jim Cuddy playing such luminous national venues as the Legendary Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto, Club Soda in Montreal and The Brickyard in Vancouver. They also garnered substantial airplay on Kingston's KRock 105.7 with the single "Poor Man's Hash". In the same year, the band also appeared on Made in Canada with TooTall on Montreal's CHOM 97.7, Underground Sounds on McGill University's CKUT 90.3.

The band continues to perform live with their latest release Speaker to Speaker in 2007. Created at Breakglass Studio in Montreal under producer Jonathan Cummins (Bionic/The Doughboys), the album was engineered by Jace Lasek (The Besnard Lakes/Land of Talk/Wolf Parade), mastered by Ryan Morey (Arcade Fire/Malajube/The Stills) and designed by Todd Stewart at Breeree. A more focused, raw endeavor, the recording brims with classic rock and roll energy, soul rave ups, heavy blues boogie, sketches of epic psychedelia as well as the necessary grooves of crowd stomping percussion jams and guitar solos. Vintage amplifiers, drums and recording gear provide the backdrop for the raucous brand of classic rock and roll Lawrance and the Cowans have come to be known for belting out.
