Bulgaria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bulgaria held national selection called Pesen Na Evroviziya 2007 (Песен На Евровизия 2007), which included a semi-final and final. 18 songs took part in a semi final on 3 February 2007, where a jury picked 9 to go to the final, with 3 "wildcards" being added in by BNT. The winner from those 12 was decided on February 24 by televoting only. Elitsa Todorova and Stoyan Yankoulov will represent Bulgaria with the song "Voda" ("Water"). The duo earned a convincing win as they triumphed by over 26,000 more votes then the song in second place.
Prior to the contest, Elitsa and Stoyan made a promotional tour in countries such as Greece, Croatia, and Serbia. Also, the duo will perform at the "Stars of Europe" concert in Italy, which will present the entry in a number of European nations. At Eurovision, Bulgaria will sing in the Bulgarian language for the first time, however the song will be presented under the English title, "Water". Bulgaria will open the semi-final, performing in the first position, preceding Israel's Teapacks with "Push The Button".
