Buksnes

Buksnes is a former municipality in Nordland county, Norway.

It was created as Buksnes formannskapsdistrikt in 1837. On July 1, 1919 the district of Hol with 2 272 inhabitants was separated from Buksnes to create a municipality of its own. The split left Buksnes with 3 188 inhabitants.

On 1 January 1963 Buksnes was merged with Borge, Hol and Valberg to create the new municipality Vestvågøy. Before the merger Buksnes had a population of 4 416.
