The town centre (dark green) and the statistical district (light green) of Buinen in the municipality of Borger-Odoorn.

Buinen (52°56′N, 6°50′E) is a town in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Borger-Odoorn, and lies about 18 km north of Emmen.

In 2001, the town of Buinen had 390 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.21 km², and contained 150 residences.[1] The statistical area "Buinen", which also can include the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 830.[2]
