Bufori is a modern brand of rare automobiles resembling 1930s coupes. The company is owned by Australian brothers Anthony, George and Gerry Khouri. In 1986, Gerry Khouri began work on a hobby, the simple aim of which was to build three special sports cars, one each for the three brothers. Out of this hobby emerged Bufori Motor Car Company.
The Bufori Motor Car Company Pty. Ltd. is a proprietary company limited by shares and registered in Australia Since 1997 the Khouri brothers formed a company in Malaysia, the Bufori Motor Car Company (M) Sdn. Bhd. a Proprietary company limited by shares. Originally, all of the manufacturing and sales operations were conducted in Australia. However, as of January 1998 the full production of the Bufori range of sports cars was moved to the new facilities in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The Bufori Motor Car Company has evolved and developed into a reputable manufacturer of exotic handmade sports cars. The evolution of Bufori vehicle models is as follows:
5th Evolution) The Bufori MKIII La Joya - From 2002 to current, this is a state of the art model that has taken Bufori to a whole new level. This model is built on a space aged space frame chassis enveloped in a 100% Carbon fiber & Kevlar body, with fully adjustable monotube multi link McPherson strut suspension and mid mounted engine. this model Incorporates, creature comforts such as, Digital climate control environment, Voice activated Satellite navigation system, Bluetooth telecommunication, Climate controlled electric Seats in 14 positions, Cool box, Surround sound multi media with MP3 etc. Driver aids include: ABS (Antilock brake system), EBD (Electronic brake distribution), TCS (Traction control system), SST (Sequential shift transmission), SRS (Supplement restraint system) c/w Air bags & pre-tensioned seat belts, Audio & visual front & rear park tronic, TPMS (Tyre pressure monitoring system), Speed sensitive cruise control, Auto dip mirrors, etc. This model is also compliant to Euro 4 emissions and is fully certified by TUV. 4th Evolution) The Bufori MKII Roadster - From 1994 to 2005, This was another whole new model from the ground up, incorporating adjustable seats, electric windows, air conditioning, 4 wheel disc brakes, power steering, manual or auto transmissions and 2.2Lt flat-4 Japanese water cooled engine, folding roof and removable hard top. This model was also made to order and available in 2+2 configuration with a choice of extended wheel bases. The base price of this model starts from USD43,000.00
3rd Evolution) The Bufori V6i - From 1091 to 1995, This was a whole new vehicle from the ground up. Incorporating a front mounted V6 3.8Lt engine with choice of 5speed manual or 4speed auto and limited slip diff. The base price of this model starts from USD46,000.00
2nd Evolution) The Bufori MK1 - From 1989 to 1992, a seriously improved version, incorporating creature comforts such as doors, fixed panel side window, fold back soft top, bucket styled seats, etc and was powered by a choice of engines from 1.6Lt to 2.1Lt and a choice of transmissions i.e. manual, auto and semi auto. The base price of this model starts from USD28,000.00
1st Evolution) The Bufori Madison - From Bufori's inception to 1989, A basic vehicle without doors, powered by a Sth. American 1.6Lt engine with 4speed manual transmission. The base price of this model starts from USD20,000.00
Additionally, The Company has produces the Bufori Bambino, a very well defined and comprehensive reduced scale model for children from 5yrs to 10yrs powered by either electric or gasoline engines. These are usually, sold as a set with a full sized vehicle and are most often Colour coded to match. They also come complete with a unique classically designed trailer with built in ramps.
