In Hindu mythology, Budha (not to be confused with Buddha) is the name for the planet Mercury, a son of Chandra (the moon) with either Tara or Rohini.

The planet is associated with Wednesday in Indian timekeeping. In modern Hindi, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, and Gujarati, Wednesday is called Budhvara; in Tamil and Malayalam it is Budhan.
