Buddha Wild Monk in the Hut

Buddha Wild Monk in the Hut is a 2006 feature documentary film that has played in several mainstream and art house cinemas. "Wild" in the title refers to the literal meaning, "to be one with nature", and this premise starts the film itself. The film is set on a remote Buddhist missionary monastery in the West. It discusses the role and life of Buddhist monks, in particular Theravadin monks, and provides an intimate and insightful look into the Asian culture in general and the role of women in Asian society. The film discusses the role and effect of religion in the current international political climate and such matters as diversity. It was produced and directed by Anna Wilding with Ms Wilding taking additional responsibilites of presenter, screenwriter and cinematographer. The film was not entered into the competitive festival circuit, as it was offered immedate cinema release dates upon final completion. Critically acclaimed, the film was invited to the 2006 Calgary Buddhist Film Series and the 2006 Screen Actors Guild Roll Film Series and is in release throughout 2006 and 2007.
