[edit] JPS’s post

It is neither an offence nor blockable to invite an uninterested (now rather disinterested, borderline loathing) third party to a debate. —xyzzyn 16:55, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

It certainly sure is can be a blockable offence. See the discussion page of Image:Gulf.png and Wikipedia:Canvassing. If you can be bothered to wade through that you will see references to the issue of inviting contributors to join in a discussion on the basis that they will support a particular point of view. In fairness, maybe you really are uninterested?. best wishes. Bob BScar23625 17:10, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

It is generally inappropriate to edit other editors’ comments on talk pages. There are some exceptions, e. g. in WP:RPA and WP:BAN, but this edit certainly isn’t covered by any of them. If you wish to make a remark on another editor’s comment, please post a new comment underneath the one on which you are commenting. In particular, please do not edit others’ comments on my talk page outside of exceptional (as above) circumstances. (However, in this case, I would not appreciate any further discussion on the issue of canvassing.) —xyzzyn 18:17, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

xyzzy. Sorry - I should have inserted the reference as a footnote. regards. BobBScar23625 22:05, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
