This day has been coming for a long time, I'm afraid. Wikipedia sounds like a good idea, but the reality just doesn't live up to it's promise. Despite the good intentions of WP:BLP, our biographies are a mess, and I for one don't believe that we should sentence semi-notable people to a lifetime of having to monitor their own articles for the inaccuracies that are so rampant. In addition, recent events (see RfC) have caused me to lose faith in WP's leadership. To be quite frank, Jimbo should have known better, and at this point I don't care what his response is.

To sum it all up, at this point I don't see how Wikipedia can ever reach the point where it'll be a reliable encyclopedia trusted by the public. Frankly, I don't see how Wikipedia is going to survive the decade, and so I see little reason to stay. For those remaining here, good luck, and I'd like nothing more than to be proven wrong. Unfortunately, I don't expect to be. BryanG 03:05, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
