[edit] notability
this article needs to have some citations in support of his notability, or i'll have to afd it. --Buridan 14:15, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- How does one establish that an artist is considered notable? There aren't stats that show amount of interest in art... possibly it would help to link to articles that show him being discussed as an artistic inspiration by various people without having to be introduced (does the fact that fans of Romantic Realism just know his name imply notability?). Possibly articles about art shows that invite him, a copy of an interview in A Journal for Western Man or receptions in his honor. While those links establish notability, I don't think they would necessarily be relevant in the article.

- Oh, it says right on your user page that you're an openly-biased anti-objectivist. Your biased attempt to remove the article just to reduce references to objectivism doesn't seem valid. If someone else feels differently, maybe the rfd should be resumed.

- Wikipedia:Notability (people) has very clear guidelines on the notability requirements for people. Basically the person has to receive 3rd party recognition for work from notable authoritative sources. None of the links you provided so far provide that (although it may exist). I have reinstated the Notability tag. It should not be taken down until that information is added. Fountains of Bryn Mawr 02:00, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
