Brussels Jazz Orchestra

Brussels Jazz Orchestra is a jazz big band lead by Frank Vaganée. They recorded their first LP in 1997. The next two albums were recorded at De Werf. They played the music of Bert Joris and Kenny Werner as well as compositions by leader Frank Vaganée or by other Belgian musicians (Michel Herr, Erwin Vann).

- Trumpets : Serge Plume, Nico Schepers, Michel Paré and Gino Lattuca;
- Trombones : Marc Godfroid, Lode Mertens, Jan de Backer and Laurent Hendrick;
- Saxophones : Frank Vaganée, Dieter Limbourg, Kurt Van Herck, Bart Defoort and Bo Van Der Werf;
- Acoustic and electric bass : Jos Machtel;
- Piano : Nathalie Loriers;
- Drums : Martijn Vink.
[edit] Line-up changes
Nathalie Loriers is a new member, replacing Christoph Erbstösser on piano, but she has not appeared on any Brussels Jazz Orchestra LP yet. Kenny Werner played the piano part on the 2003 CD and Jacques Pirotton was invited to play the guitar part.
Nico Schepers is also a new member, taking the place left by Laurent Blondiau after the third release. Dieter Limbourg replaced Fabrice Alleman and Serge Plume replaced Andy Haderer after the first LP.
For first two CDs, Nicolas Thys played the bass part while Dré Pallemaerts was performing the drums for the live album and Arnoud Geritsse was the drummer for The September Sessions. A fifth trombonist was added for that album : Jack Coenen.
