Bruno Gröning (Danzig-Oliva, May 30, 1906Paris, January 26, 1959) was a faith healer in Germany. He regarded himself as a messenger of God and his lectures called people to the "Großen Umkehr" (lit. "the Grand Reversal"). Media coverage was controversial, with reports contradictory. Public opinion was widely varied about him - some called Gröning a "miracle doctor", others "charlatan". What is known however was that he had no medical training or theological education.

1979 saw the founding of "Bruno Gröning's Circle of Friends", which passes on Gröning's teachings and reports of miracle healings which are said to occur even now, several decades after Gröning's death.

[edit] Life

[edit] Childhood

Bruno Gröning was born on 30th May, 1906 as the fourth of seven children of August and Margarete Gröning. They were a simple family - his father was a master bricklayer, and died in 1949. His mother died in 1939.

Of himself he wrote Stationen meines irdischen Lebens - The Stations of My Terrestrial Life, in which he identifies himself as having a special gift from God, giving him influence over people and animals. Since his parents would have had little understanding for this gift, he was aware of the need for his complete independence of them as soon as possible.
