Bruce Mahler

Bruce Mahler (born September 12, 1950) is an American actor, producer, and writer. He is commonly known for his role as Sgt. Fackler on the comedy films Police Academy, and his role as Rabbi Glickman on the sitcom, Seinfeld.

In 1977, Mahler kicked off his acting career as a guest star on two episodes of the tv-series, Fernwood 2Nite. In 1980, he again guest starred on the "comedy-sketch show", Fridays. After finishing up his early tv-series work, Bruce starred in the 1984 blockbuster, Police Academy, playing his recurring character, Sgt. Fackler, in its future sequels. Bruce's character in the film was responsible for getting him recognized. By 1990, Mahler had already been involved with much film and television work, among the titles of: 1984's Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter , the 1985 sequel Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment, the American sitcom Diff'rent Strokes, 1986's Police Academy 3: Back in Training, 1987's Funland, the again 1989 sequel Police Academy 6: City Under Siege. In the 90's, he did some guest-starring on the television series The Famous Teddy Z and his recurring role on Seinfeld. Bruce had minor roles in the 90's blockbusters, Hook, Dick Tracy, and Loaded Weapon 1. Through 1995-1998, Mahler starred as a rabbi who Elaine befriends on the Seinfeld episodes: The Postponement, The Serenity Now, and the The Finale (Seinfeld episode). After finishing his work on Seinfeld, Bruce picked back up on his acting career with his semi-minor role in the 2000 movie, The Perfect Storm. That same year, he played a minor role in the film Scary Movie. As of 2001, Bruce has officially retired from acting to write and produce for his company in Florida. As of today he owns a production company in New York.
