Bruce Maddox is a fictional character in the Star Trek universe. He is a cybernetics scientist. Following the death of Noonien Soong, Maddox decided to continue the work of Soong, and took a special interest in the android Data, who was created by Soong. Maddox was portrayed by Brian Brophy.

Maddox was the only person on the panel that opposed Data's entrance into Starfleet. This event was alluded to by Data speaking to Picard during the "Measure of a man" episode.

In the second season episode "The Measure of a Man" Maddox was able to convince Starfleet to allow him to disassemble Data in order to further his research. Maddox ordered Data transferred to starbase 173 in order to proceed with the disassembly, but Data tried to resign his commission. When Starfleet tried to assert that Data was property, Data appealed his decision to the judicial system, and won the right to refuse to undergo Maddox's procedure.

Following his legal victory, Data told Maddox to continue his work towards creating more Soong-type androids, and that when Maddox was ready that Soong would still be there. Maddox has not appeared in any further Star Trek releated television series or movies. However a reference to Maddox was made in the episode "Data's Day".
