Why was my article deleted? Brother No. 1 09:57, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

Whuch article was it? --Martyman-(talk) 09:59, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
Anarchostalinism. Look in google for 'anarcho-stalinism' (with the hyphen). There are plenty of references to it, internationally. It's pretty rash to delete something within a few minutes, without checking properly! Brother No. 1 10:03, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
Under the wrong title there was no way of verifying the exisitence of the term. It is better now. Please add some references to the article to help make sure it doesn't get deleted again. --Martyman-(talk) 10:06, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. Your help is appreciated - I'm sure you remember your first attempts at wiki. How do I redirect from anarchostalinism (without hyphen), anarchostalinist and so on to the main article, which I am still in the process of improving?Brother No. 1 10:08, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

You just go to the page you want to make into a redirect and add the following text (don't include the nowiki bits):

#REDIRECT [[Anarcho-stalinism]]

Thanks Marty - I've done the redirects, it was easy! I'm quite a newcomer to computers and the internet - most of us anarcho-stalinists are! (Some of us are quite elderly!) But now someone is trying to delete it again!Brother No. 1 10:20, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

I would suggest you find some webpage that describes the term and link to it from the bottom of the aritcle. Then follow the steps in appealing the deletion process. --Martyman-(talk) 10:33, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
Try not to go overboard on the references, just adding the most authoratitive ones is probably enough (you can leave out message boards etc). Also if you know of an authoratitive book that uses the term it could also be put down as a reference. --Martyman-(talk) 10:55, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Anarcho-Stalinism

Hi Brother No. 1,

I see that you're new to wikipedia, and have begun with an article that some of us are finding somewhat controvertial. What I believe that you have to come to understand are some of the underlying goals of the Wikipedia project. Please do not take our comments to be a critisism of you, your writting (except when it is specifically targeted) or your beliefs. Wikipedia is not a forum for debate about the validity of an idea or concept. Just look up Time Cube. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and therein one should find only information that is verified.

To back up an assertion that an article should be included you must provide sources, and you should always abstain from offering your opinions or views as to whether sources are correct (unless you believe them to be fabricated or bogus sources). You have included sources that include the word Anarcho-stalinism, but not all are valid and to the point, and those that are generally refer to the subject only fleetingly. If you could find a definition of the phrase, or a not-wiki article on the topic from a reputable source, then put it forward.

Again, I'm not looking to sledge you for posting the article. Just please adhere to the wiki guidelines and I'm sure you'll make a valuable addition to the ranks. Bobby1011 13:35, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

Be very careful of inviting the subject of an article to comment on it. In the past this has led to the deletion of articles or other serious action based on the fact that they become irreversibly ridden with biased opinions. Bobby1011 15:31, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
Okay sorry, but I'm not asking him to comment upon the article about him, but abut the article about a political theory of which he is one of the most prominent devotees. I am sure that many anarchists have commented upon the anarchism article, and many republicans on the republican one! Regards Brother No. 1 15:38, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
If you want to use him as a source, go for it. But once a person mentioned in the article starts to edit it, it will almost certainly become POV. Check out WP:AB. Bobby1011 23:21, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
