A name used for a user of the Wikepedia family as their public user name. There is a long tradition of Wikipedians not using their birth names as their nom-de-Wiki: indeed many habitual Wikipedians are rumoured to have actually forgotten their "proper" names through over use of their Nom-de-Wiki. Those people using their normal names are an insignificant minority.

It would make an interesting study for the real names of the Wikepidans to be analysed and compared to their nom-de Wiki - any offers?
