Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade is a launch title for the Sony PSP handheld video game system. It is a "hack and slash", top down perspective RPG in which the player can solve various quests for money and items. Although made by Sony Online Entertainment, Untold Legends is not online. It can, however, be played cooperatively with up to four other players via WiFi .
The player can choose to be one of four characters (Knight, Druid, Berserker or Alchemist). The goal is to save Aven, a city so high in the mountains that it often appears to be floating in the clouds, from the attack of various creatures. This "floating city" is the last defense of humanity against a sudden onslaught of dark, foul creatures. It is up to the player to explore the world of Untaca and its various regions, searching for items, talking to people, and killing monsters.
[edit] Monsters
- Vrultok:
Giant vulture-like creatures with claws. They will attack anything that goes into their territories. They can be seen in the Badlands.
- Vrultok Necromancers:
They fire spells at you and sometime summon 'kamikaze monsters' to damage players.
- Gorgein casters:
Gorgeins are rather reclusive and prefer to stay away from the affairs of the outside world as much as possible. They live in caverns resembling an old mining camp used by miners centuries ago not far outside the city.
- Praetox Spiders:
The Praetox Spiders are a highly-organized collective, functioning much like a bee hive. However, they do not possess the drone-like qualities of a bee. Rather, each individual Praetox Spider has the intelligence of an adolescent human. They are incredibly vicious cunning hunters, and are always hungry looking for food. Their incredibly venomous sting, territorial disposition and sheer strength make them a deadly foe. You would see some of them at the start of the game inside the Howling Pine Inn.
- Varmites:
Varmites are nocturnal in nature and hunt in large packs, making them social creatures that are rarely found alone. An individual varmite is a very hardy and ferocious omnivore that will attack anything on sight in the hopes of attaining a good meal. They have been known to roam the outskirts of the Woodland Ring.
- Zombies:
Zombies are sickening creatures that appear to be reanimated and sustained through some mysterious, powerful, dark ethereal force. Legends speak of necromancers who were able to control these forces to reanimate the dead and bend them to their will. Zombies are rumored to inhabit dark shadowy places such as catacombs.
- Gorgein Butcher:
The gorgein butchers have earned themselves a fearsome reputation among the townsfolk of Aven. They are savage warriors and, while not known for their finesse. They are without doubt deadly combatants without mercy.
- Bramble Beast:
The bramble beast is a predator by nature and will destroy any living creature that enters its awareness, including its own kind. A solitary hunter, the bramble beast does not often stray from its woodland territory where it lays ambushes for unsuspecting prey.
- Matron Skulkgra:
Matron Skulkgra has ruled the gorgein tribes for many years and there are few in Aven who do not flinch in disgust and fear at the mention of her name. This ruthless tyrant has long desired to bring her people out from the earthy depths in which they wallow, and it is the city of Aven that Skulkgra seeks to make her own.
- Dreg Beast:
These strange, nomadic creatures possess an uncanny ability to adapt to any environment, making them the only creature that has managed to thrive across the whole of this decaying world. What these creatures lack in intelligence they make up for in sheer brutality and stubborn determination.
There is also many many mini bosses and bosses throughout the dungeon.
