Talk:Brokeback Mountain parodies
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This information should not be deleted, as it is extremely relevant to pop culture and Internet meme culture. Perhaps, if there are serious qualms with this individual article, its contents should be merged with the Brokeback Mountain article and be listed as a category there.

I vote that all my info that I put on this page (a complete list of all the parodies, with links to them) should be RETURNED IMMEDIATELY!!! I am sick and tired of snotty users coming by and deleting information from articles b/c it isn't 'good' enough for Wikipedia. I spent eight hours (literally) making this page, and the info is verifiable (you can see the info for yourself by clicking the link) and pertinent. And as for deleting this page? You already know how I feel.
BTW, it's b/c of this type of thing that I want to make WikiBrain (see the Proposals page, please), a Wikipedia where we could move articles and information that isn't good enough for Wikipedia (b/c it is about pop culture, slang, etc.). Please, let's get this project of mine off the ground, before we lose more useful information like this page! Andrewdt85 01:25, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
I just re-added my old data into the page- making sure to meld it into the new data. By my 'old data' I'm referring to all the links to and descriptions of the Brokeback parody videos on the net. Please contact me before removing them again, as I'd like an explanation. Andrewdt85 15:02, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
- The information will always be in the page history; it has not been lost, and you can always copy it to another website at your leisure. Wikipedia is not an internet directory. Please see the AfD. Melchoir 21:33, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
- There is also a middle path between inclusion and deletion. Things that are not quite up to standards are often removed and posted on an article's talk page. The talk page can become a discussion ground for the merits of what is removed. It also becomes a resource for those looking below the surface of Wikpedia standards. People can find out what has been deleted and why, check it out for themselves and draw their own conclusions. Seems pretty win/win. -- Samuel Wantman 06:30, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Last Comic Standing
I've just deleted this "Notable Parody" from the article:
-
- A comic on Last Comic Standing, mentioning not to be tough enough to be a cowboy, says he's not tough enough to be gay.
Can anyone explain what that sentence is trying to convey? --zenohockey 01:00, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
