A browser is a software client application for viewing ("browsing") files, typically on the Internet.
- Filesystem browsers are called file managers (such as Windows Explorer, Macintosh Finder, and KDE (Linux) Konqueror).
- Image browsers allow browsing of images, (AceeDcee and Kuickshow).
- Text browsers allow direct viewing or editing of various text files from a file tree. Various IDEs feature this functionality.
