The surname Brown is derived from the color brown. The word brown is of Middle English origin and is derived from the Old English (Anglo-Saxon) brūn. It is related to the Dutch bruin, the German braun, and the Old Norse brūnn.The surname Brown can also be traced back to persons with brown characteristics, such as brown eyes, brown hair, or often wearing brown attire^[2]
