Broomfield Park is the former home of Airdrieonians Football Club. The ground was sold to supermarket chain Safeway and demolished in 1994. Airdrieonians went on to play at the Shyberry Excelsior Stadium until they were liquidated in 2002, with Airdrie United FC taking their place as the stadium's home team.
