Brookfield High School (Connecticut)

Brookfield High School is a high school (grades 9-12) in Brookfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut. The school principal is Dr. Bryan Luizzi, a 1989 graduate of BHS. The first Assistant Principal is Susan Griffin. The second Assistant Principal is Bill Egan, who recently joined the staff.

In 2005 it had some 859 students and 67 teachers. Ethnically the students were 93% white, 3% Asian, 3% Hispanic and 1% African-American.

Brookfield High School is known for its wide range of extracurricular activities, including its drama program.

The school is located at 45 Longmeadow Hill Road. As of Fall 2006, the school is under construction. A new library, video production studio and a whole new wing of classrooms are being added. In summer/early fall 2006, a synthetic turf athletic field was added to the school.

The school mascot is the Bobcat and the school colors are blue and gold.

Alumni include Julia DeMato (class of 1997), a professional cosmetologist and singer who made it to tenth place on the second season on the television show American Idol, and Will Denton (Class of 2008), an American actor who starred on the short-lived NBC series Kidnapped.
