[edit] About the College

Opened in 1991, it has consistently appeared in the top rank of state comprehensive schools. In 2005 the College was yet again in the top five schools in the country with 100% of pupils achieving five or more grade A* to C GCSE passes.

Brooke Weston operates a five-term year and the College day consists of five lessons starting at 8.35am and finishing at 4.05pm. After 4.00pm on Monday – Thursday, all pupils can choose to undertake private study time and extra curricular activities until 6.00pm. Both staff and students share the College’s facilities on an equal basis and breakfast and lunch is provided for students. However some students often refer to the school as a 'jail' as students are not allowed out at breaks like normal schools and often just stay inside or sit in a small courtyard. Also the school only allows it's students 15 mins for breakfast and 30 mins instead of the notable 60 mins for lunch.

The College operates a cashless system and all students and staff are issued with smart cards. These cards play an essential part in the management and the administration of the College. They are used as library cards, bus cards and like a credit card, money is stored on them to buy meals. – they are even used for the electronic registration of students.

Brooke Weston has currently had 3 principals since it's opening in 1991:

[edit] Masterclasses
