Broaddus is a town in San Augustine County, Texas, United States. The population was 189 at the 2000 census.

Broaddus is located at 31°18′23″N, 94°16′8″W (31.306337, -94.268897)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.0 km² (0.4 mi²), all land.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 189 people, 82 households, and 47 families residing in the town. The population density was 192.0/km² (501.4/mi²). There were 103 housing units at an average density of 104.7/km² (273.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 99.47% White, and 0.53% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.12% of the population.

There were 82 households out of which 26.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.1% were married couples living together, 9.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 41.5% were non-families. 41.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 25.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.30 and the average family size was 3.21.

In the town the population was spread out with 29.1% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 24.3% from 25 to 44, 16.4% from 45 to 64, and 23.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 94.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.4 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $17,250, and the median income for a family was $25,625. Males had a median income of $28,929 versus $0 for females. The per capita income for the town was $11,765. About 18.6% of families and 18.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 8.3% of those under the age of eighteen and 13.3% of those sixty five or over.
