[edit] Battle of Colliersville

Whoops! You're right. Thanks for saving the article. – Quadell (talk) (sleuth) 03:08, Mar 25, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Wikithanks

Please, do not use my wikithanks images as a barnstar. It was specifically done NOT to be used as such, but only to be a little thing to stick on user talk page. I am greatly opposed to the barnstar system, and I feel great pain to see my picture transformed to precisely become what I wanted to oppose.

There are many barnstar pictures, please use them and do not use my little wikithanks to do this. Please.

Thank you!

[edit] Battle of Chaffin's Farm/New Market Heights

This page (Battle of Chaffin's Farm/New Market Heights) ought to be renamed to represent only the primary name of the battle, as with most other multi-names I've seen. Since this involves editing the Campaign template and a variety of REDIRECT pages, I'm reluctant to do it myself. What do you think? Hal Jespersen 23:55, 26 Mar 2005 (UTC)

  • Thanks. I haven't seen other battles in this condition yet. Hal Jespersen 02:44, 27 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Autofellatio vote

Greetings. I'm contacting you because you voted to keep Image:Autofellatio.jpg, but you indicated that part of your reasoning was because the image was not demonstrated to be a copyright violation. Someone recently found the image on http://www.wowboy.com/welcome.htm, a porn pay site, with the notice "© WowBoy 2001-2004, All rights reserved". I don't know if this changes your vote or not, but I thought you might want to know. – Quadell (talk) (sleuth) 02:27, Mar 27, 2005 (UTC)

I'm very sorry. I'd gone back to change it, but you had beat me to it. Ack, how embarrassing. – Quadell (talk) (sleuth) 02:33, Mar 27, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Pic of the Day

Hi Brian,

Thanks for filling out the Pic of the Day entries for the next few days. I've moved the dates back a couple of days to space out the new promotions. We've had a spate of promotions recently, but we're not yet up to averaging more than seven new promotions a week, so I'm intercutting Picture of the Day with a cycle of older FeaturedPics (although I'm tempted to change my mind for the entry on 1st April and use Image:Villianc.PNG a little early). -- Solipsist 09:54, 27 Mar 2005 (UTC)

As you've noticed I've been juggling further. Earlier today, I hadn't noticed that we had skipped over some other recently promoted FPs.
Unfortunately whilst writing the caption for the child labor picture for the 29th, I noticed that the Lewis Wickes Hine page suggests that the other picture on the child labor page, is one of his most famous photos. Perhaps we promoted the wrong one.... but never mind. -- Solipsist 16:23, 27 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] DYK update

Congrats on your first DYK update. You've done a pretty good job. Just remember to archive the items in the same order you put them on the template and to put the item with the image on top. Happy editing! Mgm|(talk) 08:19, Mar 29, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Bible Citation Extensibility

Just thought I'd drop you a line to let you know that I've created an alternative script that could be more flexible for bible citation in terms of sources available. See Template_talk:Bibleverse. (Nonetheless, I would like somewhere else to host the script!!) --jnothman

[edit] Atlanta

I'm writing an upgrade to the Atlanta Campaign article. I see your campaign box includes 2 battles (Battle of Allatoona Pass, Battle of Pace's Ferry) that the NPS CWSAC site doesn't include. The first happened under Franklin-Nashville, the second isn't in their list at all. How did you decide to put those 2 in Atlanta? Hal Jespersen 16:41, 31 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Pace's Ferry

About the only thing I can find in the OR is:

[July] 5-17, 1864.- Operations on the line of the Chattahoochees River, with skirmishes at Howell's, Turner's, and Pace's Ferries, Isham's Ford, and other point.

Unless we can find out more than that, I don't think this rises to the level of a battle. Hal Jespersen 19:42, 31 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] *chuckle*

Using the Elian Gonzalez picture for the Wikipedia takeover announcement...nice touch!*Kat* 08:09, Apr 1, 2005 (UTC)

P.S. I haven't forgotten the date.*Kat* 08:09, Apr 1, 2005 (UTC)

Hey Brian, I'm certainly not a WikiNazi, but I have two problems with the picture: it's potentially offensive, and it makes the article seem more like a fake. The article itself is fake, of course, but I don't think we should make it so obvious until the reader gets down to the "International reaction" section. --Deathphoenix 17:08, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Did you really vandalize Ashlee Simpson, as it looks from the history, or is the screen playing a trick on me? Everyking 17:55, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)

If you continue with the vandalism, I'm going to raise the issue on AN/I. Everyking 18:01, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Oh, you mean you wrote it? Everyking 18:39, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Your edits on Evolution were vandalism. Stop it. →Raul654 19:36, Apr 1, 2005 (UTC)

As were your edits on God. Brian, this isn't funny. Well, it's funny to us, but we're not doing our readers a service (who the heck is Jimbo Wales, anyway?) It's not even in the spirit of April Fool's. Hoaxes are, playing tricks on individual people is. Inserting random jokes in articles isn't. That you're an admin just makes it worse. I'm the biggest supporter of April Fool's on the 'pedia and I hate the "who died in here" atmosphere some of our more anal retentive contributors insist upon, but there is such a thing as making jokes for the sake of making jokes, and that's called vandalism no matter what the day. JRM 21:44, 2005 Apr 1 (UTC)

Personally I think your edits were good, if a little exhaustive to add to my April Fool's page. Hedley 21:52, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)
