The Orebites were a group of Hussites formed around the same time as the Taborites, captained by Hynek Krušina of Lichtenberg. Just as the Taborites get their name from "Mount Tábor", the Orebites get their name from the hill they occupied - "Mount Horeb".

After Sigismund Korybut's expulsion from Bohemia, Jan Zizka felt that the Taborite policies were too radical, and parted from them. He and the Orebites set up another community in Eastern Bohemia, centred on the town of Hradec Králové, calling it New Tábor.

On Zizka's death, the Orebites took to calling themselves the "Orphans".
