Talk:British Personal Unions

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

India should not be mentioned as being in personal union with Great Britain because it was a British colony, not a sovereign state, and therefore its relationship to England through a common monarch cannot be called a personal union in the sense that Scotland was in personal union with England from 1603 to 1707 or Ireland was in personal union with England from 1541 to 1800.
