Why? You persist to keep meaningless bands like The Mascara Story on this website, who were around for a tiny amount of time and had little to no success, yet you refuse to allow the Kerrang! Award winning Bring Me The Horizon to have a page. I think this is just a conflict of opinions that should be ignored, and that a rising band such as this should be kept on the site. 86.139.19.193 17:45, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] subst:prod| inproper facts - just an opinion.

right i just have to state how pissed off i am at this because it is just merely a 14 year olds opinion of the band. if he/she was to meet them and have a proper conversation with them at all you would realise that they are all really nice. ALSO you cant really hate them that much because you have OBVIOUSLY taken the time out to listen and analyse their album fully..better still do you even know what metal is you think cunt?

excuse me but why are you using this discussion page too get at people? use it for actuall dicussion on the band themsleves.

bmth is real metal. and thank god this page is being kept. cos they deserve to be recognized more.

"bmth is real metal" I have to severely disagree with you there. Their music doesnt follow any structure what so ever, and without trying to sound cliché here it's just noise, and really awful noise at that. Bands i would consider metal are:

Converge
Pelican
crydebris (http://myspace.com/crydebris) Check these out especially. Really really good band.
Botch
Cult of Luna

I could list over a hundred bands to be honest. But BMTH just aren't metal, they're attempting to play music that needs experience to do well and they quite obviously don't have enough.

"if he/she was to meet them and have a proper conversation with them at all you would realise that they are all really nice"

Just because "they are all really nice" doesn't make them a good band musically does it? Fucking hell.

[edit] Metalcore?

are bmth metalcore? they are too heavy to be metalcore like kse and 36 crazyfists, has anyone considered swedecore? like as i lay dying.

swedecore is a newer form of metalcore (somtimes known as Deathcore), so not really, their not deathcore heavy, though they have elements of it in their music, they also have a lot of metalcore elements.

36 Crazyfists....METALCORE?!?! LLOL LOLZZZ LMOZZ!!11 LOLYPOPZ —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.132.205.248 (talk) 15:45, 10 December 2006 (UTC).

KSE and 36 Crazyfists don't have elements of hardcore in their music -> not metalcore86.137.164.121 20:25, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

Swedecore is not a real genre (and what is described as it is not deathcore either), and KsE are metalcore. They practically invented the recent genre of metalcore. Diabolical 01:58, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Des Lynam's son?

I don't think this is a true fact. Can anyone shed light on it? Or delete it?

[edit] Des Lynam's son?

Haha the biggest piece of bullshit ever. Delete it.

LOL. Fucking funny.

[edit] Alteration

BMTH are now supporting Killswitch Engage on their UK and European Tour, not the lostprophets as shown

[edit] Trivia

The following shoudl probably be added to trivia. "Oli, and several others in the band were straight edge untill they met Oli's ex-girlfriends brother Neil Whitley, who's main band "Schorched Flesh" lyrical content is primarily about getting drunk." -I know this to be true as I actually know Neil whitley as I'm from the same town as him.

Also their name is a quote from pirates of the caribean.

[edit] Genre dispute

BMTH appear to have influences of death metal (vocals) and metalcore (rest of the band). Therefore, I believe them to be deathcore. On no stretch of the imagination, to me at least, are BMTH screamo... maybe they dress a bit emo, but bands are not given a genre just because of how they dress. However, if people would like to explain any musical reasons why they are screamo I would be more than happy to take them on board! But for now I will leave their page as metalcore (first album) and deathcore (new album). Asics talk Editor review! 19:55, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

There's no elements of screamo in the music, people who are changing it think that because they dress 'emo' and scream they are. Diabolical 18:24, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
You'll probably need some citations to back up the genre... Encyclopedia Metallum says they're metalcore[1], as does Rockdetector[2]-K@ngiemeep! 21:20, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
I understand this, however, it is obvious that they aren't metalcore, as vocals are way too death influenced... take old Trivium for example, they are metalcore...BMTH's vocals are much more Job for a cowboy influenced than anything else. However, citation is definately needed. Asics talk Editor review! 22:09, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
Your assertion that the vocals are more growly would be considered OR if you don't have some sort of reliable 3rd party source that says that. I recommend finding some sort of article on a website that says that BMTH is deathcore and describes their vocal style - that'd be cool and it'd improve the article quality :)-K@ngiemeep! 22:26, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
I'll do my best at finding some! Asics talk Editor review! 23:09, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
I've found some citation for deathcore... Citation just search for deathcore and it will take you to a paragraph about Bring Me the Horizon!Asics talk Editor review! 12:39, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Is anyone going to mention...

That they are a bad rip-off of At the Gates et. al with a overgenerous sprinkling of breakdowns?

No one will mention that as it is POV which wikipedia forbids. However, if you find creditable sources, it would be fine to add it on. Asics talk Editor review!
