The subject of the image is still alive, and not a recluse, so a photograph could be taken and uploaded under a free license (Fair use policy). --Oden 16:06, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Because Wikipedia is a free content encyclopedia, all our content must be reusable by anyone for any purpose. That means that giving Wikipedia permission to use a photo isn't actually good enough. But it would be great if you could get the photographer to license the image under the GFDL and/or one of the Creative Commons Licenses CC-BY or CC-BY-SA (multilicensing under both is also an option). There are some suggestions at WP:ERP on what to say; it is important to emphasize that they are releasing the image under a copyleft license, not giving Wikipedia permission to use it! —Angr 18:49, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
