[edit] Summary

This is a photo of Brickyard Cottages in Measham. These buildings were originally part of Joseph Wilkes' brickyard circa 1790 and are constructed of his oversized 'Jumb' bricks. The ground floor sheds were used to dry the bricks before they were fired in the kilns and the upper floors were weaving sheds. They were converted to residential use in 1851.
