Britten House

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Britten House is a hall of residence in the University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK, named after East Anglian composer Benjamin Britten. The first half of the building was opened to students ahead of schedule in September 2006 and is home to approximately 210 students. Work is ongoing on the second half of Britten House.

Britten House was preceded by several other new student residences of the same style, designed by LSI Architects. Colman House opened in September 2004, and Victory, Kett, Browne, and Paston Houses were opened in September and October of 2005. Britten House replaced Waveney Terrace student residence, which was completely demolished by September 2006.
