The United Kingdom has a large but streamlined network of diplomatic missions around the world. British diplomatic missions to other capitals of other Commonwealth countries are known as High Commissions (headed by High Commissioners). For some Commonwealth countries the Foreign and Commonwealth Office still uses the term 'Deputy High Commission' for Consulate-Generals (headed by Deputy High Commissioners), although this terminology is being phased out. Listed below are Britain's diplomatic missions abroad, excluding honorary consulates.
