Briguel

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nuno Miguel Pereira Sousa, commonly known as Briguel (born March 8, 1979 in Funchal, Portugal) is a Portuguese football (soccer) defender, who currently plays for his home town team CS Marítimo in the Superliga.

Known simply as 'Briguel' - a homage to the former rock-hard German defender Hans Peter Brigeul (Note the slightly different spelling) - the native of Madeira has spent his entire career to date in the green and red colours of Marítimo.

The former Portuguese Under 21 international, made his breakthrough in the Marítimo first team in the 2000/01 season, against Boavista, and for many seasons since has challenged for the first choice right back position.
