[edit] Overview
BBT provides dance education to students ages two to nineteen, and also offers adult and professional dance classes. All instructors are graduates from Russian, Ukrainian, or American institutions, with professional training as dancers and choreographers and performance, teaching and choreographing experience at prestigious ballet companies of the former Soviet Union. Three-hundred students are enrolled and an additional five-hundred students are served through programs in the New York City public schools.
Unlike other professional dance schools in New York City, Brighton Ballet Theater provides all children with a unique opportunity to perform full-scale ballets, with costumes and scenery, as well as performance opportunities in character dance, modern dance, latin dance and ballroom dance, folk dance, jazz dance, and hip-hop.
Each year Brighton Ballet Theater holds two large-scale productions and countless presentations at various Special Events in the Tri-state area. The school hosts Annual Children's Festival "The World of Dance" and performances of The Nutcracker (VIDEO) at the Leon M. Goldstein Performing Arts Center.
The BBT/School of Russian Ballet also has a Summer Intensive Dance Program held in June - August of every year.
