Bridgton Academy
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bridgton Academy is the only accredited college preparatory school in the nation that offers young men a true transitional year from high school to college. Our mission is to ensure that our students develop the academic skills, study skills, self-discipline, and self-confidence necessary to succeed in college.
With postgraduate students only, rather than grades nine through twelve, Bridgton Academy is able to emulate the college environment and experience, yet with structure and support not provided in college.
According to the National Center for Education Statistics, more than half of the students who begin college never finish; of those who do finish, only 34 percent do so in four years. In a survey of a recent class of Bridgton Academy graduates, the results showed that 70 percent of them graduated from college in four years. A year at Bridgton Academy makes the difference between surviving college and succeeding in it.
