Bridgewater Township is a township in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,668 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 106.1 km² (41.0 mi²). 104.9 km² (40.5 mi²) of it is land and 1.2 km² (0.4 mi²) of it (1.10%) is water.

As of the census2 of 2000, there were 2,668 people, 1,058 households, and 783 families residing in the township. The population density was 25.4/km² (65.8/mi²). There were 1,245 housing units at an average density of 11.9/km² (30.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the township was 97.83% White, 0.67% African American, 0.19% Native American, 0.19% Asian, 0.34% from other races, and 0.79% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.56% of the population.
There were 1,058 households out of which 30.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.8% were married couples living together, 8.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.9% were non-families. 20.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.48 and the average family size was 2.86.
In the township the population was spread out with 23.4% under the age of 18, 5.8% from 18 to 24, 26.5% from 25 to 44, 25.9% from 45 to 64, and 18.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females there were 96.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.9 males.
The median income for a household in the township was $35,799, and the median income for a family was $39,071. Males had a median income of $30,000 versus $22,308 for females. The per capita income for the township was $18,139. About 9.8% of families and 11.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including 11.1% of those under age 18 and 14.8% of those age 65 or over.
