Bridge to Brisbane

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bridge to Brisbane is a fun run held in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia each year in August. The race distance is currently 12 km, although this has not been consistent over the life of the race. It attracts fields of up to 15 000 runners. The race takes place between the Gateway Bridge and the New Farm Park, Brisbane near the Brisbane central business district. A recent addition has been the incorporation of a 4.5 km race (from Breakfast Creek) starting later than the full 12 km race, with some runners competing in both.

Originally the race was called the 'Bridge to Bay' and instead of heading from the Gateway Bridge towards Brisbane, it headed towards the coast line finishing at Manly.
